Devon
O’Neal has loved
sewing ever since her grandmother
taught her how to use a sewing machine
12 years ago. She grew up in Northern
Virginia and in 2006 decided to
move to the New York City area to
pursue fashion. She is currently
a senior at LIM College in NYC majoring
in Fashion Merchandising with a
minor in Visual Merchandising. In
her free time she enjoys designing
her own fashions and visiting vintage
shops to create her own re-designs.
In addition to sewing and fashion
she loves meeting new people. Devon
enjoys working with Megan and learning
new ideas from her. She adds a great
artistic and creative flair to the
team.

Lab Green Sewing
This
course is designed for the beginner or intermediate
stitcher. You do not have to have prior sewing experience
to take this course.
If you are a beginner stitcher you will learn the
basics of sewing during this course.
However, if you are an intermediate
sewer we also welcome you to take this course as
well, and will offer more advanced techniques to
improve your skills.
In this 4-week eco-friendly fashion lab, students
will create four "green" sewing projects. The focus
will be to use materials from your home or local
thrift store to re-create these items into something
more useful. Each of the projects are made from
fabrics and clothing that is already in your closet.
Items such as old pillowcases, bed sheets, T-Shirts
and sweaters will be used. We hope that each student
comes out of this class inspired to create sewing
projects using materials from their own homes or
a great thrift store find.
Each two hour class will be project oriented and
each student will leave classes with their finished
projects.
