4 Classes - 8 Hours - Bag Making Lab

This course is designed for the beginning - intermediate stitcher. If you have not sewn before, we ask that you at least take our Make your Own Handbag Workshop before taking this intermediate level class. You will need to have basic knowledge of the sewing machine.

Megan Avery, Owner of M Avery Designs & author of popular sewing book Bag Bazaar will be teaching this bag only sewing workshop. Megan will take students, step by step, through how to make four of the more advanced bag sewing patterns from her book.

This is the class to take if you want to be a bag making expert. All the types of bags are different enough that you will learn The four styles cover different techniques, leaving you knowledgeable enough to design your own bags styles when you are finished. Techniques learned include inserting magnetic snaps, creating gussets for flat bottomr bags, inserting zippers, working with heavier fabric & interfacing, E ach student will leave each class with their finished project.

Class size is very small. There are only 8 spots per session.

Megan Avery, Instructor & Owner of M Avery Designs, started her handbag company in 2001. After creating and selling her handmade handbags for over 3 years, she began teaching her secrets to the public in the form of Handbag workshops to adults and kids. Today her studio is host to regular after school fashion accessory design classes at both the Hudson School and Hoboken Charter School, as well as weekly fashion accessory classes open to the public. In addition, Megan hosts numerous crafty bridal shower, birthday & girls night out celebrations at her inspiring studio.
